Double convex lens consists of two convex surfaces of equal radius that focus light into a single point with a positive focal length. Due to the symmetrical shape of the two sides, it is a more suitable unit for 1:1 imaging applications. It is often used in imaging relay system, object imaging under finite conjugate distance or beam focusing, collimation, beam expansion, etc. The characteristics of convex lenses are that the greater the conjugation ratio, the greater the aberration generated.
