Equilateral prism is one kind of dispersion prism. It has three equal 60deg angles and it can separate a beam of white light into its component colors. Equilateral dispersion prisms are generally used at the minimum deviation Angle, where the operating wavelength of light will be parallel to the base edge when passing through the prism, and, due to the proximity to Brewster Angle, the loss of p-polarized light can be reduced.
